If you have no health insurance there are two opinions you have:
- Public patient
- Self insured
Public patient
Dr Thomas operates at two public hospitals, Blacktown and Mt Druitt.
If you are a public patient you will not receive a bill for any services whilst in hospital. These services include the anaesthetist, assistant surgeon, theatre fees, prosthesis charges, pathology, x-rays and radiology and physiotherapy.
You will be placed on a waiting list which is organised and managed by each hospital.
Self Funded:
If you are a self-funded or self-insured patient ie no private health fund hospital cover, and wish your surgery to be performed in a private hospital, an estimate of surgical fees will be given to you at the time of consultation with Dr Thomas.
